Unique history of Fox Point State Park includes the land that the park occupies when the Pennsylvania Railroad began filling in the bank of the river along its right-of-way to create additional industrial land. In 1958, S. Marston Fox began a battle to stop the filling process and turn the four-mile stretch of shoreline over to the people of Delaware. The park stands to remind citizens of Mr. Fox's visions and how they became a reality.
