Shopping

Wilmington and the surrounding area is a shopping destination for Delaware residents and people visiting from nearby states. Tax-free shopping makes it more affordable to shop in Delaware and is one of the reasons the state is known for fantastic shopping centers and outlet malls.

The Christiana Mall, for example, is located south of Wilmington off I-95 and offers tax-free shopping at Nordstrom, Target, JCPenney, Macy’s and Cabela’s. Christiana Mall has over 140 unique shops and stores including Michael Kors, Apple, Anthropologie, H&M, Vera Bradley, Urban Outfitters and more. Just north of Wilmington is the Concord Mall, also offering year-round tax-free shopping at stores that include Macy’s, Ulta, Barnes and Noble and Best Buy. The Independence Mall offers the historic charm of classic brick colonial architecture with a variety of restaurants like The Melting Pot and fun shops.

The Christina Crossing shopping center in Wilmington provides additional shopping opportunities.
