James Williams is the Small and Minority Business Development Manager for the City of Wilmington’s Mayor’s Office of Economic Development. He meets regularly with business owners in the City of Wilmington to help them overcome obstacles and solve any number of challenges that stifle or slow their growth. He participates in several business advocacy groups which keeps him informed of local business trends and challenges faced by local businesses. James and the Office of Economic Development have several tools and resources which can assist Small and Minority Owned businesses. His role also supports the City’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise program, helping to increase access to the city’s procurement and contracting opportunities for small and minority owned businesses.

James lives in the City of Wilmington with his wife and their 2 wonderful children. They enjoy participating in local events and patronizing local businesses throughout the City of Wilmington and Northern Delaware. He has a BA in Psychology from Villanova University, an MBA from the University of Delaware and has held a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certificate.
