Climate

Wilmington’s climate offers residents four beautiful seasons to enjoy. The sparkling waterfront, parks and downtown shops are enjoyed year round by those looking for outdoor recreation. With a summer high of 86 degrees and a winter low of 25 degrees, it is possible to enjoy outdoor recreation for much of the year.

Though located in the east coast, Wilmington is in the Mid-Atlantic region so it doesn’t snow very much. The average snowfall is just 13 inches, significantly less than the northern states like Main or midwest states like Minnesota. Simultaneously, in the summer months, Wilmington is cooler than most other cities in Delaware - making it comfortable even during the warmest months of July and August.
